Year 6 Communication Letter Spring Term 1 Friday 12 th January, 2018 Dear Parents/Carers, Happy New Year! I hope you all had an enjoyable (and restful) Christmas. The children have returned refreshed and ready for the busy term ahead. Our topic this term is World War Two. The children will be exploring what it was like for an evacuee during this time; rationing and the impact this had upon individual’s lives and the role of women during the war. Please note, as part of this topic the children will also be learning about and discussing the Holocaust. Due to the sensitive nature of this topic I will be sending out an additional letter prior to this lesson detailing the information that the children will be exploring and will be inviting parents to come and discuss any questions or concerns they may have.
